ELECTORAL PSYCHOLOGY OBSERVATORY

LAUNCH PROGRAMME: GLOBAL ELECTION DAY (6 FEBRUARY 2020)

Global Election Day, Thursday 6 February 2020, will see the launch of our new Electoral Psychology Observatory, our two projects “The Age of Hostility” and “First and Foremost: the electoral experience of first time voters”, our forthcoming book Inside the Mind of a Voter (Princeton University Press), and our new online Almanac of Electoral Ergonomics!

Different parts of the event will be of interest to academics and practitioners in the fields of Election Management and Democracy (including Electoral Commissions, IGO, MPs, NGOs, etc) as well as the media. Attendance is free by registration only for the Academic Workshop and the Designing the Ideal Polling Station workshop and by invitation only for the other events (but please, do contact us if you are interested)

Programme:

  • 10.15 – 12.30: Academic workshop, CGB. 4.17, London School of Economics
    Innovative concepts and approaches in electoral psychology (Academic workshop with some leading scholars in the field, including Prof. Robert Erikson, Columbia, Prof. Sylvia Kritzinger, Vienna, Prof. Eva Anduiza, Catalonia, Prof. Martin Rosema, Twente, Dr Eri Bertsou, Zurich and many more in addition to the EPO team, LSE)
  • 13.00 – 15.00: Formal launch of the Electoral Psychology Observatory, NAB 8th Floor, London School of Economics (LSE)
  • 16.15 – 17.45: Roundtable in Parliament on the experience of first-time voters (Parliament)
